Sealing joints in waterproofed concrete structures (English translation)

Waterproofed concrete structures have become increasingly important in recent years. The design and waterproofing of joints within these structures requires special attention from both designers and contractors.

The purpose of this book is to present and explain a wide range of examples of poor practices in waterproofing structural joints. In addition to describing the limitations of various joint sealing systems, guidance is also provided on various aspects of design, site preparation and implementation.

To avoid defects and failures, it is essential to know the different joint sealing options, their mechanisms, strengths and weaknesses, related installation procedures and common pitfalls. To achieve satisfactory waterproofing, observing good practices by both designers and contractors is mandatory.
