The paper addresses the multitude of types of technical and sanitary installations existing and necessary today in buildings: cold water supply installations, hot water and sewage systems inside buildings and in urban complexes, combustible gas supply installations and medical fluid supply installations for hospital units.
The specialist's mission is to design and size these installations so as to ensure at the consumption points the quantitative and qualitative parameters - flows, pressures and temperatures - required by the user.
For all categories of installations, the constitutive and functional schemes, the principles of composition and the conditions for the location of the component elements, as well as criteria for choosing the necessary materials and equipment, insisting on the aspects of functional and energy efficiency. Accordingly, the main calculation and technological and economic sizing methods are detailed.
In order to provide the possibility of concrete solutions to the problems addressed, the chapters present solutions and technical data, taken from suppliers' catalogs, for some specific materials and equipment.
