Computer systems security

The work deals with the issue of computer system security presenting methods by which security at the operating system level but also at the physical level can be improved, the situations in which security breaches can appear and vulnerabilities in the system. The subject addressed is very topical in terms of scientific knowledge and the application of advanced IT technologies in Linux-based computing systems.

The exercises are presented in the form of a statement as well as with solutions, the operating system used being Linux.

The paper is addressed to students following the Computer Systems Security course as well as master's students following the Computer Systems Security course at the Faculty of Automation and Computers from the National Polytechnic University of Science and Technology Bucharest, helping them in developing projects and solving laboratory applications. Also, the work is addressed to all those interested in the field of IT security: students from higher technical education who are trained in the profiles: systems engineering and computers and information technology, researchers, teaching staff.
